HST Groep is among onther things ISO, HACCP and AEO certified. It all sounds great, but without the right knowledge or context, these may seem like empty terms. Read below which certificates HST Groep have and what they mean.
AEO stands for “Authorized Economic Operator” and is a certificate that can be issued by the (national) customs to companies that operate internationally. Companies that are AEO certified enjoy a number benefits compared to non-certified companies. For example, companies with an AEO certificate are less strictly controlled within cross-border trade, causing the throughput to be issued faster.
An AEO certificate is basically proof that the (custom) processes of the organization are organized and regulated well. The organization must meet certain safety criteria such as financial health, free from fraud and the property records need to be accurate and transparent in order to be eligible for the certificate. With an AEO, a business basically proves to be reliable and secure. Although an AEO certificate is not mandatory, is it strongly recommended for organizations dealing with custom clearance. Because of this, many organizations choose to work only with AEO certified partners.
As the cross-border trade increased, the demand for similar standards an organization must meet arose. For this purpose, the ISO 9001 is created. Hereby, the management needs to demonstrate that they actively engage in quality management and controlling operational and business processes. This involves:
Simplified this means: say what you do, do what you say and prove it.
After the development of the standard in terms of quality, more and more companies wanted to make their business (more) environmental friendly. To review and measure this desire, the ISO 14001 was created. ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that indicates which requirements an environmental management system must meet. The key points are:
Preferably, the environmental management system is (partly) related to the management system of quality (ISO 9001) or is a part of it.
The HACCP certificate assures that an organization handles food products safely and hygienic, judged by means of a risk analysis and critical control points. The certificate can be given to companies engaged in the manufacture and processing of food, but also to companies that take care of the treatment, packaging, transport or distribution of foods. The basic principle is always to minimize the potential risk of contamination. In logistics, HACCP means that the certified carrier transports foods and alike products safely and takes for example the temperature requirements of products into account.
In addition to ISO 14001, which also focusses on sustainability, HST Groep also possesses the “Lean and Green Star and Award”. This award and star are respectively for the preparation and realization of green initiatives, such as reducing at least 20% CO2 emissions. Above mentioned certificates are all in order to inform clients about the safety and reliability of an organization. Besides certificates regarding management systems, it is important that things like health and safety rules are being respected and followed at all terms. Moreover, there are personal certificates and diplomas certain employees must possess. This can for example be an ADR certificate for the safe handling of hazardous goods and a forklift certificate to ensure warehouse safety.
