Four years later – in 1985 – new joined forces came into effect. HST took over the activities of Kuipers in Hengelo. From then on, HST made home deliveries, for instance washing machines, ovens and stoves. By building, storing and distributing displays, the Logistics department became active.
In the 1980s, HST cooperated with a number of regional operating companies in the Netherlands. In particular smaller consignments were mutually exchanged. In 1989 HST and some other companies established together the Distri Group Benelux. In the night time, the affiliated compagnies exchanged goods at a central transfer point in Nieuwegein.
In 1989 HST joined the Dutch Parcel Service, the NPD for the distribution of parcels. This has led to the establishment of the NPD Twente B.V., a full subsidairy company of HST B.V.
The present CEO, Mr. G.H.A.M. ter Brugge took over HST B.V. and the NPD Twente B.V. in 1994. Under his direction, HST became an (medium sized) international transport company that provides a large range of logistic services.
The cooperation with the Distri Group Benelux ended in 2000 and NPD Twente was sold. A new collaboration started under the name of TransMission. HST International was also founded in the same year. With the start of HST Sea & Airfreight in 2005 and the takeover of Haarman Transport and Nijhuis in 2007, the range of services was again extended.
