Yalp wins the WTC East Export Award
Last week, we saw a nice post on LinkedIn: our customer Yalp from the Dutch town Goor won the WTC East Export Award. A great achievement and undoubtedly deserved!
Yalp is a supplier of sports and play equipment. Their products are exported to countries all over the world. Through interactive devices and inspiring environments both the old and the young are challenged to move again. The main purpose of this is to have fun with in. Especially in a world where it is becoming more and more difficult to get young people to get moving, Yalp seems to have found a gap in the market. They anticipate to this with products such as an outdoor DJ table and an interactive football wall. The company being awarded with the Export Award confirms that this view is shared.
Yalp and HST Groep
Last Wednesday morning, at HST we were pleasantly surprised: “Guys, cake!”
Yalp was proud of their winning and wanted to share it with their partners and suppliers. For years now, HST provides the transportation for Yalp to the most varied destinations around the world. It used to be mainly sea freight to China, but in the past couple of years, the transportation of the equipment to the Far East has increasingly done by rail. In addition to this, HST provides also the road transport to various European destinations.
How does HST arrange the transport?
Yalp indicates that they have another shipment for Chinese customers and therefor the account manager at HST immediately starts arranging the transport. Because of the size and volume of Yalp’s products, it is not unusual to use an entire sea container (FCL) for these goods. A driver of HST Groep delivers a container with a side loader to Goor. Here the container is loaded and in 21 days, it arrives at the distribution point in China. From this point, the articles are brought to several Chinese final destinations. Besides the transport of complete sets, HST also provides the sending and returning of spare parts and we take care of the handling of import shipments.
In addition to arranging transportation, HST also completes an advisory role: “When Yalp orders new parts for the devices overseas, or wants to export their devices to a new market, they can always come to us for some advice” explains Yalp’s account manager at HST. “For example, HST advices about the sale to foreign customers about the incoterms. For some orders it is advised to choose for delivery to the port, but in other cases it is better to go with door-to-door delivery.” This additional service is an example of the extra effort HST likes to do for its customers: good cooperation is a two-way street. Therefore, customers can always contact us to ask for advice on exporting or importing products or product parts
