Here they are, the 54 brand-new Krone trailers. A total of 17 standard trailers and 37 mega trailers. They will be used for road transport to Scandinavia, Germany, and Switzerland. The purchase was necessary due to increased transport volumes and further modernization of the fleet.

Mega Liner trailers

In addition to the standard curtain-sided trailers, which are approved for use in LZV combinations, we opted for the mega version. With their low chassis, the so-called 'Mega Liners' are designed to transport loads of up to 100 m3. Thanks to the mechanically adjustable roof, this space can be used optimally, making it possible to transport higher loads.

Intermodal transport

In addition, the three-axle sliding tarpaulin trailers are equipped with sliding roofs. This makes it possible to load and unload from above instead of from the side and rear. Furthermore, the Krone semi-trailers are equipped with the Huckepack system. This makes them suitable for use on intermodal transport routes. In practice, this means that, in addition to road transport, the new trailers are also particularly well suited for transport by train to countries such as Scandinavia. With the TÜV Code-XL certificate, no additional load securing is required. The semi-trailers can be transported by rail at speeds of up to 140 km/h.

The ability to transport maximum volumes and the use of intermodal transport routes fits in perfectly with our strategy to make our logistics processes more sustainable. In 2009, we were one of the first companies to receive the Lean & Green Award for this.
